Building Blocks for Biosimilar Integration in Cancer Care

Clinical Use of Biosimilars in Oncology Practice

Biosimilars have the potential to reduce healthcare costs and expand patient access to biologic therapies. This one-hour webinar will discuss biosimilars currently on the market for use in oncology, both supportive and curative, including approved indications, delivery methods, extrapolation and curative intent, evidence from post-marketing surveillance studies and studies in which patients switched from reference biologics to biosimilars, safety monitoring, and patient education/support.

Learning Objectives

  • Compare the approved indications and delivery methods of currently available oncology biosimilars with reference products.
  • Discuss efficacy and safety data for oncology biosimilars, including necessary monitoring parameters.
  • Describe interprofessional education strategies for patients on the safety and monitoring of biosimilar products when initiating or switching therapies.
